Today, he focuses on building client relationships, identifying new opportunities and supporting the company’s growth across multiple industries.

What you should know about John Aydin:

How did you first connect with Bristola, and what made you take a chance on a startup?

I first connected with Bristola through industry conversations and mutual contacts in the biogas space. What immediately stood out to me was the technology itself. The team had a strong vision, deep technical knowledge and a passion for solving real operational challenges. When I saw the specialized valve and cleanout system in action, I knew it was a game-changer. Joining a startup like Bristola was a calculated risk, but it gave me the opportunity to help build something that had never been done before. I believed in the value of the technology and saw a clear need for it in the market.

What does a typical day look like for you?

As the business development director, my work includes identifying new opportunities, managing client relationships and supporting project execution. I work closely with the technical and operations teams to make sure our solutions fit client needs, whether a municipal digester cleanout, a valve retrofit or long-term maintenance planning. Every day looks different. I might be visiting a site, attending a conference, writing proposals or leading strategy calls. Staying flexible and proactive is key.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the impact our technology has on client operations. When we help a facility avoid a shutdown or reduce costs through a smarter cleanout process, it is a win for both the client and Bristola. It is motivating to know that we are solving real problems with innovative solutions.

What is one project or moment that stands out to you?

A project that stands out was securing and executing a digester cleanout for a client who needed tight coordination and a long-term plan. Multiple stakeholders were involved, and we were competing with traditional methods that had been used for years. Not only did we win the project, but the client quickly saw the value of our approach. Avoiding shutdown, reseeding and reheating saved them significant time and cost.

How would you describe the culture at Bristola?

The culture is fast-paced, hands-on and highly collaborative. Everyone wears multiple hats, and good ideas move quickly. There is no heavy bureaucracy, which allows us to act fast and work together efficiently.

What is it like working with Jared?

Working with Jared is straightforward. He is upfront and to the point, which helps eliminate confusion and keeps projects moving. He wants everyone to succeed and brings a lot of clarity and purpose to the work we do.

What do you see for the future of Bristola?

I see Bristola becoming a recognized leader in the biogas, wastewater and oil and gas sectors not only for our valve technology, but for long-term operational efficiency and digester performance. As more facilities look to modernize and reduce downtime, our solution is positioned to become the new standard. I look forward to helping expand into new markets, build partnerships and grow our presence across North America and beyond.

From technical collaboration to long-term strategy, John plays an important role in Bristola’s growth. His commitment to innovation, client success and forward-thinking development helps pave the way for the company’s continued expansion.
