From the U.S. Marine Corps to business ownership, Jeff Harclerode has always had an entrepreneurial spirit and a knack for leadership. Today, as a partner at Bristola, he helps steer the company’s strategic direction and financial growth, all while maintaining the bold, forward-thinking attitude that defines the Bristola brand.
Jeff’s journey began in Des Moines, where he graduated from Dowling Catholic High School before serving in the Marine Corps. After his service, he built a career in the mortgage industry, started his own business and later purchased an environmental services company. His experience gave him a unique perspective on operations, leadership and risk, making him a perfect fit for Bristola’s fast-moving startup culture.

How did you first connect with Bristola, and what made you take a chance on a startup?
I met Jared through a mutual connection. The passion and uniqueness of his ideas drew me in. I’ve always had a risk-taking personality, and this opportunity fit the bill.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
Seeing a client’s reaction when they realize what our technology can do for their operations and their bottom line. Those “ah-ha” moments make it all worth it.
What’s one project or moment that stands out to you?
There have been several times when a client tested our systems for a few days, only to double the contract once they saw it work. That kind of trust means everything.
How would you describe the culture at Bristola?
It’s like a raging river, constantly moving and changing direction. It’s challenging but exhilarating.
What’s it like working with Jared?
He’s a true subject matter expert. Watching him talk with engineers, operators and owners is eye-opening. He listens, identifies their problems and gives them real solutions.
What do you see for the future of Bristola?
We’re changing how business is done in multiple sectors, including oil, gas, wastewater and beyond. The potential impact is enormous.
